Linear-time manifold mapping built from a spine plus a displacement field.

Phi(u) = Spine(t) + Displacement(t)
t = mean(u), delta_k = u_k - t
w_k = u_k / Sigma (or 1/K when Sigma = 0)

Defined and continuous at Sigma = 0.
